Manage your Law Firm documents more efficiently – get Free White Paper

Can you imagine not being able to find an agreement that contains a clause which could make or mar your defense argument in court? Well, it’s not hard to imagine that situation if most documents in your law office are stored away in filing cabinets. Quite likely you will need help from a couple of your assistants to locate that document. But if you have digitized your documents, then managing client case files will just be a matter of a few clicks. Your staff will be relieved at having all the information they need at their fingertips. And most important of all – managing your law office will be quite like running a well-oiled machine – a smooth affair. In our white paper titled “Helping Law Firms Overcome the Document Management Challenge” we convey precisely this, using the example of a hypothetical law firm.

Where to scan paper archives: Onsite or Offsite

Scanning your archive of paper documents is a major project by itself. It will make your documents permanent. But are you comfortable with the idea of letting a vendor have possession of your confidential papers? At the same time, can you accommodate high speed document scanners and skilled staff sent by your vendor to your office premises without disturbing your employees’ work routine? These are some important points to consider if you have decided to embark on the project to digitize your paper document archive.

Read the free white paper titled Choosing between Onsite and Offsite Scanning of Paper Archives for a closer look at this issue.

Should you scan paper archive first or current documents?

This is a dilemma many businesses face, especially those which have large paper archives comprising decades old documents. The leadership of the company agrees on the need to switch to electronic document management. Now one of the first decisions to be made as part of document management planning is what to scan first – the paper archives or paper documents in daily use. Maybe your organization faces such a dilemma. Both options have their own advantages and limitations. Before you zero-in on any one, you should look at their pros and cons dispassionately and find out which option will help you stay in line with the short term as well as long term goals of your business.

To help you make this choice, we bring you a free white paper titled Paper Archives or Current Documents: Which to Scan First? The white paper discusses the various factors that you should consider before making the decision in favor of either.

Globodox Version 7.5 Released – Download Now!

We are happy to announce the release of Globodox version 7.5! Globodox 7.5 comes to you with highly useful features, improved performance as well as language support! You can download the full setup or the update setup from the Downloads page.

What’s new in version 7.5?

  • Language Support: From version 7.5, the Globodox setup will be separately available with user interfaces in English, Spanish, French and Slovak. Note that though the user interface (menus, messages etc.) is currently available in the above mentioned languages in addition to English, you can store documents and data in any language in Globodox.
  • Workflow Cloning: Organizations often have certain business processes that are similar to each other. Normally you would need to create separate workflows for each process from scratch. However, from version 7.5, you can create a single workflow for just one of the processes. Then for each process you can create a copy (clone) of that workflow and then make the necessary changes to the copy. This results in considerable time savings for the persons who create workflows.
  • Display of EML file in Preview Pane: Prior to version 7.5, viewing an email message stored in EML format required you to have MS Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail installed on your machine. But now Globodox natively supports viewing EML files in the Preview Pane. So email messages including those downloaded by the Email Capture module can be viewed without needing MS Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail installed on your machine.

UPGRADE NOTES:

  1. To upgrade your existing Globodox installation, download the update setup.
  2. If your maintenance subscription has expired, then you will not be able to upgrade your current Globodox installation to the latest version. You will first need to purchase as many Maintenance Subscriptions as the number of Globodox licenses you own. To purchase, write to us at sales@itaz.com.
  3. Learn more about why you should upgrade to Globodox 7.5
